post surgery Support

There is great evidence to link support structures post Bariatric Surgery (both individual and group support) to success rates with excess weight and weight-loss maintenance, and so we have have implemented more of a systemised approach to support, and the resources our patients can have access to.

We know group therapy and support focus on helping patients make lasting lifestyle adjustments providing an excellent platform to allow you to share successes and failures, as well as providing a sense of community and encouragement.

We encourage you to get involved in any structured bariatric surgery support system or platform and share your journey and receive/provide encouragement and support. Foundations of Healthy Living Retreats, The PACE Program, Facebook LIVE sessions, Walk ‘n’ Talk activities, and our Facebook pages are all community orientated and we have some third party support providers as well.

Then together we will build your confidence and courage and diminish fear, doubt and that self critic that is constantly sabotaging you.

The post-surgery behaviours are often a pattern that is common to many WLS patients. How you manage and move through these areas is frequently and can be explained and understood with Kate’s support.

Kate holds a series of three workshops throughout the year in a number of areas throughout the country. Session 1 :Understanding the Ride, Session 2: After the Honeymoon and Session 3: Flourishing connects you with the different stages of the journey. So if you are feeling the need to work through some of this stuff in a group workshop setting, or you prefer one-on-one, you can book a session with Kate here.
